The firm offers a variety of services including: design development with floor plans and exterior and interior three dimensional perspectives, construction drawings, details, specifications, as well as construction supervision. Our work is founded on the belief that architecture is an art and a service and, most importantly, that good clients make good architecture. Harvey Cohn Architecture has been building houses for more than twenty years. In that time, we have built year-round houses, summer cottages, and houses in the country. Here in New York City, we have a wide range of experience with townhouses and apartments of various types and sizes. Our designs have been recognized with a number of awards and publications. Most important to us is the great pleasure that our clients take in their homes. Multifamily Residential With substantial experience in the development and management of major residential projects, HCA is uniquely qualified for multi-family residential projects. Our knowledge of financial and management considerations, both short and long-term, provide added insight into the planning of units, unit mix, choice of building materials and systems, and building identity. Central to our design philosophy is that buildings be human in scale and relate to the existing architectural fabric around them. Commercial Architecture We approach our commerical projects out of an understanding that people work, shop, dine and relax in the environments we create. Our attention to detail is vital to the spaces we design because it results in environments that are well-suited their purpose. HCA's commerical work includes offices, restaurants, shops and a spa. Institutional Architecture Our commitment to a collaborative creative process ensures that nothing is built in isolation and that when the client selects the appropriate time, the concerns of all interested parties will be heard. With strong links to the academic community, HCA understands the often complex world of higher education. Similarly, we recognize both the significance and symbolism of such common institutions as libraries, hospitals, community centers, galleries, and performance centers.
